The Visit to Insel Mainau, Konstanz and Meersburg

A day out with Johannes. Started our journey at 8am, it took about 1 1/2 hours to an island called Insel Mainau (Flower Island), 7km from Konstanz, a place where u can enjoy the beauty of flowers.

Pic 1: Insel Mainau (Flower Island)

We have to walk through a bridge to lead us into the island...

Pic 2: At the entrance of the island

Pic 3: Peacock made by flowers

Pic 4: Ducks

Pic 5: Purple flowers

Pic 6: Colourful toiletbowls

Pic 7: Autumn is near

Pic 8: Oohhh, Saint Bernard! How can a dog in this Insel Mainau, the Flower Island? Who cares... There are a lot of dogs here and knowing me, i love animals so it is an enjoyable day for me to look at beautiful flowers and animals... hahahaa... Look, how big he is.... oohhh... cuteee

Pic 9: Outside of the Butterfly House. Schmetterlingshaus (Butterfly House) is one highlight of the Mainau, Germany's biggest butterfly house.

Pic 10: Beautiful butterflies

Pic 11: A transparent butterfly

Pic 12: The Castle of the Teutonic Order was built between 1739 and 1746 according to the plans and under the supervision of Johann Caspar Bagnato. It is an architectural centre and splendid setting for various occasions. This is where the heart of the island beats and the family of Count and Countess Bernadotte lives.

Pic 13: Giant Garden Gnome Of Flowers in the castle courtyard. An attempt at a world record to be listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Pic 14: The Castle Church of St. Marien forms a unique baroque ensemble which ranks among the most splendid historical places of interest of Lake Constance. Inside the church you find a solemn yet cheerful world of sculptures, frescos and stucco. The castle church offers a romantic setting for weddings.

Pic 15: The Italian Flower and Water Staircase

Pic 16: Halskrause (Pooh) - Dahlie. This is only one kind of Dahlie, there are hundreds of them i think...

Pic 17: There are also a farm in Insel Mainau where they have cows, pygmy ponies, miniature donkeys, goats, numerous hens and rabbits. These goats are very clever, they know that this machine can provide them food so they will kick it, open its flapper and try to lick for food there...

Pic 18: ''Where is my master??''

After 3 1/2 hours walk in Insel Mainau, we drove to Konstanz to visit this place. We had our lunch here.

Pic 19: Walk around in Konstanz.

After walking around in the town, we went back to where we park our car and pay for the ticket to drive out. Just before we wanted to leave Konstanz to Meersburg, Christian called. She wanted to meet us so we have to repark our car again. Dl sms Christina who is staying in Konstanz early morning but no reply till Christina called. Thank God that we got to meet coz i haven't seen Christina for years...

Pic 20: Christina treated us for drinks

Pic 21: Then what else? Kapten Eng said let's take a boat ride out to the Bodensee (Lake Constance). Measuring 40 miles in length and 8.5 miles in width, Bodensee (Lake Constance) covers 220 square miles, making it central Europe’s second largest freshwater lake. Bodensee, is bordered by three countries: Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. More than 4.5 million people in the three countries rely on the lake for drinking water.

Pic 22: Christina and me. We had 30mins ride in the boat.

Then we continued our journey to Meersburg while Christina went home. We waited for 30mins to drive our car into the ferry to Meersburg, to across the Bodensee from Konstanz to Meersburg.

Pic 23: Johannes is paying for the fee for passengers and his car in the ferry.

Pic 24: We walk to the top of the ferry to enjoy the view of Bodensee.

About 15mins ride in the ferry, we finally reach Meersburg, found a parking place and there we go to walk around in Meersburg.

Pic 25: The 2 man wanted to buy wine in Meersburg, they said the wine in Meersburg is very nice.

Pic 26: Walking around in Meersburg

Pic 27: Enjoying our ice cream

Pic 28: Some shops and hotel in Meersburg

Pic 29: The castle in Meersburg

Pic 30: Then we continue to walk back to our car...

And drove back to Albstadt. 1 1/2 hours drive. We reach home at 8.30pm and the man prepares dinner together.

Pic 31: We had spaggetti and Meersburg wine.

It was a wonderful day, tired yet enjoyable. Thank you Lord for this blessed day.
