In remembrance of Lucas Mentink

Before taking my nap, i had a sms from Yanti, the singer in our Shell band who broke the news to us that Lucas Mentink, our talented guitarist from our band just passed away this morning!!!

What a shocking news and i immediately called her back. Lucas was playing tennis for Shell Inter-C game this morning where after he won a game, he felt unwell and he called his wife to pick him. On the way to Pantai Medical Centre, he was already in coma and when they reached Pantai, nothing can be done already. He had a heart attack.

Such a shocking news that I started to cry when I told darling this news. Darling knew him too, they played badminton together before.

Lucas is supposed to go back to his homeland Holland with his wife and 3 children after years of serving in Shell Malaysia next month, and yet, this tragedy happened. Life is so unpredictable and fragile.

R.I.P Lucas Mentink, you will always be remembered... such a softhearted man, good husband and father and always with a smile.

Sad sad news...

Early morning already read the email of the sad news. We are not playing the annual dinner that i have been talking about... :( coz hor, they don't have the budget to hire us to play... :( sad sad.....

Though we only practice twice, but all of us are so eager and practice so hard for the event. :(

Haaaii... nevermind lo... what to do... :'(

Was wondering if i can chip in some parts with saxophone... xp (**sshhhhh... haven't been playing my sax for years... hmmm.... ya... i think 1 year ++ so no confident at all... will try to practice it first before i tell my gang if i can play with it...)

Due to no place to practice it, i have not been blowing it often. If i practice it at home, all my neighbours will go kuku... not only my neighbours, but people in few blocks away will all go kuku... whahahahaaa... that's the reason i stop practicing it unless i have a big place like church (weekdays).

Hopefully i can play something out this time. I can bring it to office to play in the music room...

Yes! Studio 48 is alive again!!! :)

Studio 48 is our band's name during Shell Annual Dinner this year... and recently we are being approached by someone; asked if our band can play for their annual dinner and how much do we charge... :D Without hesitation, many of us replied "YES" to the email but non of us know how much we should charge... hahahaa

We have 2 weeks time to practice 7 songs! 1st practice today... sounded, so so only. I believe we can make it... come on... talented people in the band leh... ;p

Band Practice

Another round of practice today for Shell Annual Dinner. Getting better! Praise the Lord.

Can catch up with the chords in the song "Warna" already, which has all the complicated chords but i manage to conquer them today... YAY!

Feeling super tired.... only get to sleep 5 hours...

Band Practice

Came to office early today coz of band practice for Shell Annual Dinner. On graveyard shift this week which is starting at 10pm but i'm in the office at 5pm. :p

Band practice is from 5pm - 7.30pm. Then i still have 2 1/2 hours gap before starting work. O.o

1st practice for me today with the whole band. Still need to catch up alot!

Can't imagine this... I was so happy when i receive an email asking me to be part of the band for band performance for our Shell Annual Dinner!!!!!! *Thanks to Dinesh for pulling me in*

Woohoooo... I have always long to play and of course, i love to play musical instruments. I miss playing piano / bass / guitar so much in church!!! :s

And out of sudden, there is an invitation for me to play in this band, i replied the email without hesitation.

Though i know it's not easy to be part of the band because of the practices that we have to have, plus my shift work schedule, nontheless, i'm going for it coz it's something that i love! :D

AAAwwwwww.... Daddy in heaven really know my heart... I can never repay His love for me.... Once again, thanks DAD!

Yoo Ye Eun born blind

Yoo Ye Eun, a 5 year old girl born blind playing the amazing piano pieces. No one taught her how to play piano but she could just play it after listening to the music.

My Sax

My saxaphone that I bought in 2003 that I hardly have space to blow coz it's too loud... :p

I remembered dad asked me once, why do I want to get a saxaphone. The answer I gave him... "Coz it's cool..." hehehheeee


Isn't it cool? :p But it's quite a hassle after every practice / blow coz need to clean up all the saliva that has been stored up in the saxaphone itself... kekekekeee...


Together in this big casing, it's seriously so heavy that I was once so scared to bring to music school... too heavy...

Spent my morning at home just to play piano! Yes! Finally!

Though after playing for an hour, brother start to blast the tv. At first, I can't really stand it and i thought i want to get my saxophone out to blow since it will be louder than the tv... hahaha... (**war at home**) but i didn't do it coz i wanted to practice my piano for quite sometime, i miss my piano.

After a while, i asked brother to soften his tv which he did. So i'm enjoying my morning with songs, praising the Lord... singing... sis sing, mom sing... even Buddy, Tiger and Abigail can't stand but to join me, stepping on the keys helping me to play i guess... =D

My playing didn't improve much coz i hardly have time playing at home, nevertheless, those skills are still there, after warming up a while, i'm still enjoying my playing. AAhhh.... I'm satisfied! xp **Thank you, Lord**

My next mission, practice saxophone? Hhmmm... not sure if i still can remember all the notes. :D

Saw this in my friend's blog. Really amazing.... i like the 1st one where the kid is playing organ.
